Loving Doves (poem) by Ganesh B. Dhami

A couple of sluggish doves, Sitting on the electric wire, Talking in a love's language- hopes To beget offsprings outta their amorous desire. Stupid I, peep them Through the barn's window After one afternoon's nap To make them fly, wickedly I clap. Such an evil deed ,I cursed in me. For not showing curtsy to distract their glee I was filled with jealousy for  my bare arms. Though, I prayed for they should face no harms.        Ganesh B Dhami        24 Sept, 2020        Butwal, Nepal

He Drank Wine and his Life (poem) by Ganesh B. Dhami

Accompanied by his friends For the first time, He gulped a sip of wine And found himself on the cloud nine. Day: one, day: two. Years passed on. Sometimes bad weather, Sometimes for fun. Sometimes at the party, Sometimes reason for none. Alcoholic he, thought drank it. But was being summoned to death bit by bit. Untimely, one day, he swallowed his own life. Baffling and leaving behind his endeared children and wife.                 Ganesh B Dhami                26 Sept, 2020                Butwal, Nepal

Complaint of the Old Tree (Poem)

-Ganesh B. Dhami I, who once was tall, young, gallant and hansome;   Drank sweet nectar from the earth's womb, Bathed in so many rainfalls, Witnessed so many ancient suns, Sheltered so many birds, Shaded so many humans, Endured so many icy-cold nights And scorching summer days; Have now become feeble and helpless. I stand tall but meek. My own body has been the burden for me. My ears do still echo with the tempting speech Of the cunning leaders given under my shade During their pre-election campaigns. I still vividly remember their promises. My eyes have witnessed so many amorous birds making love. I have raised so many nestlings in my lap. But, they never came back. I still remember the old ploughman's wife Who watered me and lit a mustard oil-lamp; Died a year back. Even the dog that loved and visited me frequently till his last breath Died yesterday in a tractor's reckless drive. I heard the municipality d...

I Wanna Go Somewhere Far Away

By Ganesh B. Dhami I wanna go somewhere far, Beyond the blue oceans and mighty Himalays Where the wind blows my hair and  whispers in my ear "Zen, let's play hide and seek." But here I lay sick and meek Amidst ravaged inhuman humans. I wanna go somewhere far Where the grass is always green, The sun is always shining bright, Fawns hopping here and there Birds chirping eternal songs, I wanna go somewhere far Somewhere distant Hundreds of miles away And want to relax Without worrying about anything. I want to go somewhere far The place which is not on the map. Will you accompany me? Will we stare into eachother's eyes? I want to go far away with you. Only you.

You Were My Sunshine (Poem)

By Ganesh B. Dhami You were my sunshine on a rainy day But so untimely, someone from above Ruthlessly snatched away Leaving me behind Baffled, shattered and bewildered. Though you are not with me Your memories everywhere I feel you fondling my hair. I hear you whispering my name in the air. I hear your footsteps walking in the hallway. I feel you tweaking my chubby cheeks. I feel your hands caressing my back. I feel you sitting by my side Watching your favourite TV serial Gleaming and framed photos of you on the wall I talk to them, smile at them. The thoughts of you keep me warm in winter’s night You were the light of my life that burnt so bright Whom someone from heaven took away You were my sunshine on a gloomy day. You made me happy when times were down You were my umbrella when it rained You held me in times of need You were my bandage when I bled You were my sunshine in times of rain Please c...

निभेको दियो (कविता)

By Ganesh B. Dhami

To My Daughter (Poem)

By Ganesh B. Dhami I saw the swirling clouds Hovering over the chimney of our house Too dark, too black like charcoal. So, I fear. I had a dreary vision- A pack of mighty wolves Chasing, entangling, killing And gobbling a helpless little lamb. So, I fear. I envisaged a ruthless raven Devouring the featureless innocent nestlings Growing in their nest Though they had done no wrong. So, I fear. I found a triumphant lion Preying on a little fawn At early dawn. So, I fear. I heard your little puppy Whining throughout the night. So, I fear. I witnessed a caged pigeon Wailing; for her master encapsulated Her without any reasonable reason. So, I fear. I saw a venomous serpent Running behind you. So, I fear. Dear, my little angel, I had a gloomy nightmare. Something ominous is happening to us. So, I fear. As I scroll the news-feed of Facebook I only see the news of rape, murder, incest, infanticide and taboo. I sometimes am ashamed on being male. Man, these days h...

By Ganesh B. Dhami She is the supermodel. She is Miss Kollywood. There ain't any award She hasn't owned. She is the actress Of the blockbuster movies. She is the palpitation Of the youngsters, Talk of the town, Headlines of the news, So many breadwinners Casting her interviews Trending number one in YouTube. Brand-ambassador of pretty many companies, Host of the national level reality shows. Cheering crowd wherever she goes. Thousands of autograph seekers, Insta-twitter followers, Thousands of Facebook fans. Thousands of admirers of her beauty, Floods of messages, Avalanches of likes, And hurricanes of comments On her latest photo in moments. She is the supermodel. She is Miss Kollywood. She is the most gleeful lady Who lives the most epicurean life In the eyes of every beholder. Each of whom hypnotized and agaped at her pulchritude. A Bleeding Girl (Poem)

by Ganesh B. Dhami A dainty girl of 13 with twin tails and dimply cheeks Raises her hand in the midst of her maths class in her seventh grade For she needs to go to the bathroom As she has felt, for the first time, something wet between her two legs. Says her super-strict male teacher "This class isn't a bathroom class, You can't move until you've finished the exercise 3.5." "Sirrrr ……" before she speaks up, the teacher threatens her again, "Didn't you listen to me?" One of her friends tries to explain which too goes in vain. Now, the dictator's class is over, the Hitler is gone.   Nevertheless, her cheeks are blushed with shame, Her skirt soaked with menstrual blood. She has turned into a paranoid mess. All the boys have departed homewards. "Thanks God", school is over but now "how shall I go home?" Spoke to the nearest girl to check the back...

Lunatic(poem)

Laxmi Prasad Devkota 1. Oh yes, friend! I'm crazy- that's just the way I am. 2.  I see sounds, I hear sights, I taste smells, I touch not heaven but things from the underworld, things people do not believe exist, whose shapes the world does not suspect. Stones I see as flowers lying water-smoothed by the water's edge, rocks of tender forms in the moonlight when the heavenly sorceress smiles at me, putting out leaves, softening, glistening, throbbing, they rise up like mute maniacs, like flowers, a kind of moon-bird's flowers. I talk to them the way they talk to me, a language, friend, that can't be written or printed or spoken, can't be understood, can't be heard. Their language comes in ripples to the moonlit Ganges banks, ripple by ripple- oh yes, friend! I'm crazy- that's just the way I am. 3. You're clever, quick with words, your exact equations are right forever and ever. But in my...
