Laxmi Prasad Devkota was born in Dillibazar Kathmandu in1966 BS on the night of Laxmi Puja to father Padit Til Madhav and mother Amar Rajya Laxmi Devkota. His parents were able to admit him to Durbar School After completing his school life, he enrolled in the science program at Tri-ChandraCollege in 1925 and began to read English poetry. After his Intermediate degree in Science, he received his bachelor's degree in arts in 1929. He went to Patana, India and completed the Bachelor of Law degree there.
The mid-thirties were a terrible time for Devkota: his mother, father, and a two-month old daughter died within two years. He contributed to Nepali literature. He wrote his first epic, Shakuntala, in three months, another epic Sulochana in ten days and Kunjani in a single night. Both epics are considered
among the best works of Nepalese literature. His masterpiece 'Muna-Madan, a long narrative poem written in folk meter brought a revolution in Nepali literature. Devkota became a professor at Tri-Chandra College in 1946. He
was the editor of a magazine, Yugbani. He had become minister of education in 1957 AD. In his later days, he suffered from cancer and died in 2016. We cannot imagine the state of Nepali literature without Laximi Prasad Devkota.

Anuradlha Koirala was in born in Rumjatar, Okhaldhunga, Nepal on 14th April 1949 AD. Her father's name was Colonel Pratap Singh Gurung and mother's name was Laxmi Gurung. She is known as the Mother Teresa of Nepal. She was educated at a hill station in Kalimpong, India. It was here that the Mother and Sisters at St. Joseph Convent School further increased her devotion towards social work. Mother Teresa has always been her largest source of inspiration. She spent more than 20 years teaching children at various schools around Kathmandu. Even though this brought her great satisfaction, she realized that she had a bigger personal calling to fulfill. Children, girls and women were being trafficked within and from Nepal for commercial sexual exploitation. Therefore, in 1993,
Ms. Koirala founded Maiti Nepal with the aim of providing services for both children and women who have endured untold pain and suffering, often in silence.
