What is Mangal Dosha
If Mars is placed in any of these 12, 1, 2, 4, 7, and 8 bhava then it creates a dosha called “Mangal Dosha”. It is believed and also seen in thousands of charts that mangal dosha cause minor to grave damages in the life of couple and death is very likely outcome of this dosha.
Vedic astrologers emphasize that a person with mangal dosha should marry only a native having the same mangal dosha otherwise the marriage will not continue. He will suffer a lot in his life and also may have to see the death of the spouse or divorce or permanent separation.
These are the possibilities which are happening otherwise also but when this dosha is present in the horoscope then the chances are very strong that any of these incidents can happen with the native.
There is lot of fear in general people for obvious reasons for this dosha.
Why is it considered harmful
In Vedic astrology Mars is given three aspects which are 4, 7 and 8. It is the planet of courage and fearlessness. It is given the role of commander in the planetary cabinet. War or quarrel is his natural attribute. Harsh, rigid and dominating nature is also due to Mars only most of the times.
When mars is placed in such houses it aspects the houses related to harmonious marriage and these aspects or the placement of Mars in those houses causes the spouse or the native to be very quarrelsome and dominating.
In today`s world no one like to be dominated due to the financial independency and this in long run causes separation, divorce and physical abuse too.
Thus it is very important that one gets his horoscope checked along with the person with whom the marriage is going to be fixed.

Effects of Mangal Dosha: 

  1. When Mars is situated in the 1st house: The 1st house represents the house of spouse. Thus it normally affects the married life leading to unnecessary conflicts. It might also lead to physical assault and violence. Due to such unacceptable behavior such a person might suffer from tension, distress, separation or even divorce.
  2. When Mars is situated in the 2nd house: A person’s family life is affected. It also creates obstacles in the married life and the professional life.
  3. When Mars is situated in the 4th house: This will have adverse effects at the professional front. Such a person will switch jobs and also will not be successful professionally. Financial trouble will keep lurking.
  4. When Mars is situated in the 7th house: Such a person has too much of energy and will be ill-tempered resulting in not being able to maintain cordial relationship with family members. Also this person will be very dominating and dictating over his or her partner and s/he might also have many partners.
  5. When Mars is in the 8th house: Such a person will be lazy and will not be able to maintain a rapport with his or her elders and thus will lose paternal property.
  6. When Mars is situated in the 12th house: Manglik individuals will have enemies. S/he will also suffer from mental problems and financial losses.
Remedies of Mangal Dosha
There are Vedic remedies too prescribed in ancient astrology books which are:
1) Marrying the native with a banana tree or a buffalo and then again marrying with the actual person. It is believed that if the native is manglik then this first marriage will act as a remedy of the same.
2) Marrying with a person having the same Mangalik dosha.
3) One should do fast on Tuesdays and donate blood in the blood camps to mitigate the effects of this placement of mards.
4) One should devote himself to God and pray for betterment in life.
